Week 29: February 22-26
Hello Everyone,
I hope you and your families are all well. We are almost up to Spring Break with only one week to go. Next week we will have parent teacher conferences and we have half days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
ASL1: This week we completed Lesson 21 and the Vocabulary Practice Quiz for that lesson. Most students have already signed the Practice Sheets for me with just a few more that need to sign on Monday, as we had one half day this week. Students are becoming amazingly proficient in their signing fluency and fingerspelling. Special thanks to Elsie, McKenzie, Adeline and Riley for helping me out with a project last week. I appreciate you all!
ASL2: Students are continuing at their own pace and are doing an amazing job! Special thanks to Aggie, Nate, and Noah for helping me out with a project in class last week. I appreciate you all!
Spanish 2: This week we studied vocabulary in context and students were assigned roles to read in the text for En Vivo Dialogo. Students also answered questions on an assignment related to the text pages we studied in class this week. Today in class they also took a 10 question vocabulary quiz worth 20 points. The quiz was a fill in the blank quiz with the words in context.

Quizizz is a program that allows students to work a set of problems multiple times and reports their best attempt. I like to use this format, as it allows students to problem solve and teaches them perseverence. It also allows them to determine their own grade. Today they learned to perform number manipulations in Spanish within this format. ie. cuatro por tres mas cinco (four times three plus 5).
German 2 and Japanese 2: Students are working their way through Level 2 of Rosetta Stone and some students are even working in Level 3. I am proud of all of the students for their committment and dedication to learning each language. I hope they will have the opportunity to travel abroad and use it to communicate and learn about other cultures.
Have a great weekend and thanks for all that you do!
