Week 26: February 1-5

 In Uncategorized

Hello Parents and Students,

The STEM Fest was an entertaining way to wrap up the week. We went outside today during my 3rd hour and watched rockets being launched, working catapults and an amazing egg drop contest! Being here at San Tan Charter School is always entertaining!

ASL1: This week in class we covered Lesson 18. It included modes of transportation such as boat, car, truck, helicopter, airplane, and motorcycle. Today students had to sign 20 sentences to show their mastery of this lesson. They also had to complete the Vocabulary Practice Quiz.

ASL2: These students are continuing to work at their own pace and have steadily added new vocabulary words to their ASL lexicon each week.

Spanish 2: Students have been working with me in class to complete a packet and gain mastery of the preterite verbs in this unit. We have been using Word Reference as a conjugation tool and will be testing over the current chapter next week. I encourage students to revisit the textbook pages to study.

Spanish 1: Students prepared slideshows this week that included three famous people. They had to describe these people both physically and with personality traits and also describe what the person liked, disliked and was wearing in the picture they provided. They had to match adjectives to nouns in gender and number as well. We began presenting these today and will finish next week. I am very proud of students for their progress in reading in Spanish. Their pronunciation is developing nicely.

German 2 and Japanese 2: These students are continuing to put time into Rosetta Stone. Three students in this class placed in the top three of the egg drop contest…perhaps I have some future engineers in this class! Congratulations Kayden McDermott, Aaron Chesko, and Zane Barker! I enjoyed hearing about your designs and had fun watching you test them today!

Have a great weekend everyone! Be safe and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Sincerely,

Ms. Hirepan
