Weekly Announcement for April 12-16

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Happy Friday Parents and Students!

ASL 1: In class this week we completed Lesson 27 and the respective Vocabulary Practice Quiz. Some of the sentences students had to sign were:

Practice sheet 27.A
01. BREAD WITH BUTTER YOU LIKE?
02. MAKE SUGAR COOKIE, YOU KNOW HOW?
03. YOUR CABINET-[cupboard], what-COLOR?
04. CAKE, YOU LIKE WHAT-KIND?
05. YOUR COFFEE, YOU LIKE SUGAR?

We had some good discussion over the differences in the word make and coffee. They are very similar and sometimes get confused.

ASL 2: Students who are on track have finished signing Lessons 31 and 32 this week. Parents, if your child has not yet signed these lessons please give them some encouragement to catch up. I appreciate your partnership in motivating your children when they need it. You are amazing at what you do!

Spanish 2: This week we worked on vocabulary in context and dialog that includes our new vocabulary words. Students chose roles and read two text pages with the new vocabulary. We worked at identifying root words that some of the imperfect verbs came from. The imperfect is a form of the past tense. We use it to talk about things we did as a child. Students learned a song today called Recuerdos de mis bisabuelos (Memories of my great grandparents). Next week we will learn more about conjugating verbs in the imperfect.

Spanish 1: This week we worked on vocabulary in context and dialog that includes our new vocabulary words. Students chose roles and read two text pages with the new vocabulary. This week students learned to talk about items in a classroom. They also learned a song called Yo tengo lo que necesito ( I have what I need). Next week we will be working on conjugating more -AR verbs.

Geman 2 & Japanese 2: Last week 11 students performed at better than 100%. Great job guys and gals!

Have a fabulous weekend!
