Week 8: Sept. 13-17

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Parents and Students. I hope your week went well and that you are all in good health.

ASL 1: In ASL 1 this week students completed receptive fingerspelling practice and should have signed Lesson 6. Next week we will learn the vocabulary and practice sentences for Lesson 7.

ASL 2: This week students signed sentences for the states 16-20 and completed Lesson 36 in ASL University. We also watched the Top Stories on Tuesday through Friday. Since ASL University teaches words based on frequency, students are able to recognize many words that are signed in the news. Next week we will sign sentences for states 21-25 and study Lesson 37.

Spanish 1: This week students worked on reading in Spanish and understanding words in context. We also worked on listening and watched two Spanish Speaking videos from the curriculum and answered comprehension questions for both. In addition to this, students completed two Duolingo assignments and practiced their vocabulary for this chapter on Quizlet. Next week we will delve into some of the grammar concepts for the chapter.

Spanish 2: This week students completed a comprehensive packet on conjugating -AR, -ER, and -IR verbs in the present tense. This packet also included a review of interrogatives. Students were challenged in their writing this week when they had to write three separate paragraphs with conjugated verbs. I was very proud of each of my students in these classes, as they demonstrated diligence and perseverance. Next week we will delve into some of the grammar concepts for the chapter.

Have a great weekend folks. Stay healthy and happy!
