Week 6: August 30- Sept. 3

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Happy Labor Day Weekend!

ASL 1: In ASL 1 this week we completed Lesson 4. Students also participated in a one to one fingerspelling activity with the topic of things you find in a classroom. In addition to this, students watched the Top Stories (short news clip) this week and watched the Children’s story  “No, David” signed. I was very proud of the observations they made this week and shared with me about both. Next week we will work on Lesson 5.

ASL 2: In ASL 2 this week we completed Lesson 34. We also signed 5 new state sentences. In addition to this, students watched the Top Stories (short news clip) this week and watched the Children’s story  “No, David” signed. Later in the year we will have projects related to both. Next week we will work on 5 new state sentences and lesson 35.

Spanish 1: This week in Spanish 1 we created a quizlet for useful phrases in the classroom, studied the words and then played Quizlet Live today. We also completed two Duolingo assignments and learned our numbers 1-30 in Spanish and learned the days of the week as well. This wraps up our chapter, so we will be having a test on Tuesday when we come back. Next week we will also make a  quizlet for the new chapter, create a word wall and I will  introduce the new objectives.

Spanish 2: This week in Spanish 2 we started a new chapter for which we created a Quizlet and studied it, created a word wall and read a dialog as well as working on vocabulary in context. Next week we will begin to work on some of the grammar objectives which include ir + a + infinitive, using present tense verbs ending in -er and -ir and learn more about verbs with irregular yo forms.

Have a great extended weekend everyone!
