Week 37: May 16-20

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Good morning families!

I just want to reiterate again how much I enjoy having your students in class! They have done some amazing work this year! Last week in both ASL classes students signed songs that they had prepared. Not only were they incredible, but they all had great song choices! I even plan to add some of their artists to my playlist!

ASL 2: This week in ASL 2 students are working on 20 new signs that they find within a favorite children’s story of their choice. Students who have already signed this for me have said that they enjoyed this assignment and that it was challenging. Next week we will take our final which consists of signing 2 randomly drawn practice sheets from Lesson 31-60. We have been prepping for this for the past three weeks.

ASL 1: This week in ASL 1 students are working on 10 new signs that they find within a favorite children’s story of their choice. They are allowed to work with a partner on this assignment. Students who have already signed this for me have said that they enjoyed this assignment and that it was challenging. Next week we will take our final which consists of signing 2 randomly drawn practice sheets from Lesson 1-30. We have been prepping for this for the past three weeks.

Spanish 2: This week in Spanish 2 students finished their preterite tense packets and did some whiteboarding, translating sentences from English to Spanish in the past tense. Today students will be working on part one of the study guide for the final and tomorrow they will work on part two. Next week they will take the final in two parts on Monday and Tuesday.

Spanish 1: This week in Spanish 1 students learned how to use the irregular verb ir, which means to go, to talk about schedules. They also learned to tell time in Spanish. Today and tomorrow students will be working on the study guide for the final. Next week they will take the final in two parts on Monday and Tuesday.

Have a great rest of the week!
