Week 36: May 9-13

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Families,

This week many students have been hard at work testing and deserve some fun this weekend. Why not take in a musical? Ms. McQuaid and her students will be performing “Annie” this weekend and her students are very excited to showcase their work.

ASL 2: This week students impressed me by signing their favorite songs. This was a challenging and fun assignment which required them to sign at least 4 verses and a chorus by themselves. The feedback from students has been great! They said they had a lot of fun doing this assignment and that they learned a lot of new signs. Next week students will work with a partner to tell a children’s story. They will need to take turns narrating and signing.

Spanish 2: This week students completed Duolingo, studied their Quizlets and completed a couple of Quizlet checkpoints. During Quizlet Checkpoint students are given 12 random words to translate from their vocabulary list and they try to beat their last class score. Today each of the classes beat their previous class scores. Students also worked on a preterite packet this week to reinforce conjugation skills. Next week we will be doing some whiteboarding, Duolingo and take a vocabulary quiz.
