Week 33: April 17-21
Hello Families. I hope you are all enjoying our Spring weather today! Some of the classes had Spring Fever today, but I was able to roll with it. Exercise helps, for them and me! LOL!
Spanish 2: This week in class students learned about stressed possessive adjectives and how to use them in Spanish sentences. They are used to emphasize who something belongs to and are words like mio, mios, tuyo, tuyos, nuestro, nuestros, vuestro, vuestros and suyo, suyos. They match in gender and number to nouns they are used with. Students completed Duolingo this week and a Quizizz on stressed possessive adjectives and will take notes tomorrow on reflexive pronouns and verbs. On Friday, students will be creating a plan for their piñatas and will be on the lookout over the weekend for items they can use to construct them next week. Parents, if you could ask them about their plan and help them look for the items, it would be much appreciated. Some items that are useful for piñata construction include cereal boxes, oatmeal containers, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, poster board, colored tissue paper, hot glue guns and hot glue sticks. We will start to construct our piñatas on Monday so that is when these items will be due.
Spanish 1: This week in class students learned how to conjugate the verb jugar and use it when talking about sports. They also learned that the verb tocar is used to play a musical instrument instead of jugar. Students completed a worksheet and a Quizizz on the verb jugar this week and also completed a Duolingo assignment. Students also had fun learning The Mexican Hat Dance! Special thanks to Jutem McCollem for teaching the students how to be awesome on their feet! We appreciate you!
