Week 29: March 6-10
Yay! Spring Break is almost upon us! I hope this post finds everyone well and enjoying our beautiful weather this week.
Spanish 2: This week in class students have been working with stem-changing verbs in the preterit and preterit verbs with i to y changes. This is all within context of the chapter vocabulary and objectives. They have also completed partner reading and comprehension questions in Spanish this week. Students will be completing a Duolingo assignment tomorrow and if time allows will also play Quizlet Live. Quizlet Live is played in teams of three or four and teams compete to match Spanish words with their English meanings. Upon return from the break students will be working on nationalities in Spanish and the verb saber and conocer which both mean to know, but are used in different contexts. They will review for their chapter exam that week which will be at the end of the first week back from break.
Spanish 1: This week in class students have been working with the ir+a+infinitive formula to express things that they will do in the future. ie. Voy a ir al gimnasio despues de escuela which means I am going to the gym after school. They completed notes on this, a worksheet and also a Quizizz to test their knowledge. Students also took notes on present tense verbs with irregular yo (I) forms. On Friday, they will take more notes on this in addition to playing Quizlet Live. Upon their return from break students will be working on a culture comparison assignment in the chapter, complete a review and take the chapter exam.
ASL 1: This week in class students completed review for lessons 1-24 and also completed lesson 25. Upon their return from break, students will work on Lesson 26 and have a written assignment related to the objectives.
ASL 2: This week in class students completed more country sentences (we are in the M’s now) and they also worked on Lesson 55 which is due on Friday. Upon their return from break students will be working on Lesson 56 and will have a written assignment related to the objectives.
Have a great Spring Break Folks! Thanks for sharing your wonderful children with me. I enjoy having each and every one of them in class.
