Week 28: February 27-March 3

Hello Families! Wow! Did you see the Superstition Mountains yesterday morning? I couldn’t believe the amount of snowfall. It was truly beautiful. That being said, I hope you are all enjoying this unusual weather.

Spanish 2: This week in Spanish 2 we worked on vocabulary in context with the help of a packet and we also learned about demonstrative adjectives. Demonstrative adjectives in Spanish are used to express position and uses words that are masculine, feminine, singular and plural. Each word in Spanish tells how near or far a person or object is away from a person. For things that are closest we use the words este, estos, esta, and estas. For things that are somewhat near we use ese, esos, esa, and esas. For things at a great distance we use aquel, aquellos, aquella and aquellas. Next week we will be working on Nationalities in Spanish and some more stem changing verbs in the preterit.

Spanish 1: This week in Spanish 1 students created a Quizlet for the new chapter, created a word wall and worked with vocabulary in context and dialogue. They also played Quizlet Live in class today to reinforce the vocabulary. Next week students will be learning the ir + a + infinitive form to say what a person is going to do and will practice more present tense verbs with -er and -ir endings.

ASL 1: This week in class students completed an article on Language Choices: Signed Exact English and ASL. Students also completed Lesson 24 and review of Lessons 1-23 and Stories 1-20 for bell work. Next week students will work on Lesson 25.

ASL 2: This week in class students completed an article on Language Choices: Signed Exact English and ASL. Students also completed Lesson 54 and Country Sentences. Next week students will complete Lesson 55 and new country sentences.
