Week 25: February 5-9

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Families. This has been a rainy week, but warmer weather is on the way!

ASL 1: This week in class students are beginning to read a book called “Train Go, Sorry.” This book is about life inside a deaf world and is told from the perspective of a person whose parents taught at a residential school for the deaf. Students are being immersed in the deaf culture through their reading to gain a better understanding about life among the deaf. Students also completed some receptive fingerspelling practice and Lesson 18. Next week students will complete some review of Lessons 1-18, read another chapter of “Train Go, Sorry,” and Lesson 19.

ASL 2: This week in class students completed Country Sentences 86-90 and Lesson 50. Next week students will begin reading “Train Go, Sorry,” more country sentences and Lesson 51.

Spanish 1: This week in class students completed vocabulary practice, Duolingo, Albert.io and work on Possessive Adjectives and Possession with de. Students will be taking a vocabulary quiz tomorrow and next week will begin work on a new chapter.

Spanish 2: This week in class students have been writing sentences with Irregular Preterit Verbs using 6 different subject pronouns from their box of six. A box of six helps students to conjugate the verbs according to the subject pronoun. Students have not been allowed to use their computers on these assignments and have been asking great questions in class. I’m very proud of all of their hard work and sustained effort in trying to attain proficiency in this skill. Well done students! Students also completed Duolingo and Albert.io this week in class. Next week students will be working on Reflexive Verbs.
