Week 24: January 19-22

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Tutt, tutt, looks like rain! (I hope)

Hello Everyone,

I hope your week has gone well and that you have some fun activities planned for the weekend. I am planning on starting my weekend with some frozen yogurt. It has been a Friday tradition in my family for a long time to go to Mesa Frozen Yogurt for Butterbrickle frozen yogurt. If you haven’t tried it, I would highly recommend it! It’s like heaven on earth!

ASL1- This week in ASL 1 students worked on lesson 16 and had to sign Practice Sheet Sentences A-D. They had to show me 20 sentences in all, and so far everyone who has signed for me has been amazing. Students should finish this assignment by Monday, as well as the Vocabulary Practice Quiz.

ASL2- Students continue to amaze me at their own pace!

Spanish 2: Students are working to master using regular and irregular verbs in the preterite. We tried out a Google Jamboard this week, which is an interactive whiteboard and students practiced using preterite verbs in sentences. We are also nearly finished with our Word Wall. Students should have finished up their Duolingo 100XP assignment by today and we also played Quizlet Live in the classroom to reinforce the vocabulary words!

Spanish 1: This week students worked on definite and indefinite articles, learned that adjectives follow nouns and must match in gender and number, and learned to talk about what a person is wearing. They had 1-2 Quizizz assignments (depending on which hour they are in) with unlimited attempts to master both definite and indefinite articles. Students should have finished their 100XP assignment in Duolingo, and we also played Quizlet Live to reinforce the current vocabulary words.

German 2 and Japanese 2: Students worked this week to get their minimum time of 30 minutes per day. Many students rocked this and have exceeded the expectation. I think we will have a lot of A’s this quarter if students keep up the great work!

Just a reminder parents to make sure your student has their camera on during the entire class and that they stay the entire class until dismissal. Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!
