Week 23: January 11-15

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Parents and Students,

I hope you and your families are well and managing in person and online learning well. Sometimes it can be a challenge with spotty internet. This weekend is a 3 day weekend, so it is a good chance to get out and play to release some of the stress and stay healthy. Looks like the weather will be great too!

ASL 1: In ASL 1 class this week students studied Lesson 15 and had to sign a story, complete a vocabulary practice quiz and the cumulative test for lessons 11-15.

ASL 2: Wow! Some students have already completed Lesson 24! Way to be self motivated! We have been doing partner activities for 20 min. each day too. A student signs a question to another and the other student has to answer the question in a complete signed sentence.

Spanish 2: This week students started to build a word wall, worked with words in context and completed a dialog in which they were assigned roles.

Spanish 1: This week students created a word wall, learned about definite articles and practiced the vocabulary on the Learn section of the Quizlets they created.

German and Japanese: Students worked to achieve their 30 minutes per day. I have lowered the time requirement as I feel students effectively made up for the missed time they had when school went online in March 2020.

Parents, as a reminder please check your teen’s Infinite Campus grades each week to help them to stay on top of things. Even though we expect them to do this on their own, some of them still struggle and need that parental involvement. I have been noticing a lot of unexcused absences in 7th hour in particular, so it is important to monitor their attendance. Thanks for all you do parents to help your teen to be successful in school. I appreciate all of you. Students, I appreciate all of your hard work too!
