Week 16: November 20-22
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year! I love spending time with family and friends, sharing great food and focusing on the things that we are thankful for. I am thankful for my family and friends and my health. I am also thankful for my students and their supportive and wonderful parents. It takes a village to raise a child and I appreciate all of the hard work that students do in school and all of the hard work that parents do at home to help their children to be successful at school.
ASL 1: This week in class students signed their Thanksgiving sentences. They learned how to sign about 25 new words that had to do with Thanksgiving over the past two weeks so don’t be surprised if they sign those words at the dinner table. Next week students will be working on Lesson 12 and reviewing for upcoming finals.
ASL 2: This week in class students worked on Thanksgiving sentences and Country Sentences. It was fun for me to hear about the traditions that each student shares with their family at Thanksgiving! Next week students will be completing Lesson 43.
Spanish 1: This week in class students completed more work on using describing adjectives in sentences. In Spanish adjectives come after nouns in sentences and must match the nouns in gender and number. Students also completed Duolingo and a vocabulary quiz. If your child did not perform as well on the quiz as you or they had hoped, please make sure that they are studying their Quizlet at home. They are usually given 15 minutes every other day in class to study their words, but some students may require extra time to gain mastery. Next week students will complete a chapter review and take a test over the chapter. They will also begin work on vocabulary for the next chapter.
Spanish 2: This week students continued work indirect object pronouns and stem changing verbs. They also completed Duolingo and a vocabulary quiz.
Have a marvelous Thanksgiving everyone! Cherish each moment!
