Week 14: November 8-12

 In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Families. I hope this week is going well for you all and that you enjoyed your time off on Veteran’s Day! Thank you to those of you who have served our country!

ASL 1: This week in ASL 1 we completed Lesson 12, practiced our receptive fingerspelling, watched the Top News stories in ASL and enjoyed a children’s book in ASL called How the Elephant Got It’s Trunk. We also talked about how concepts are signed in a Topic/Comment Format. Next week we will begin lesson 33 and sentences with points of interest for countries.

ASL 2: This week in ASL 2 we completed Lesson 42, State Sentences 45-50, watched the Top News Stories in ASL and enjoyed a children’s book in ASL called How the Elephant Got It’s Trunk. Next week we will begin lesson 13, complete more fingerspelling practice and review previous lessons.

SPA 1: This week in Spanish 1 we practiced our Quizlets for 15-20 minutes, took notes on using the verb ser to describe personality, physical characteristics and features with the tener verb. We also completed actividades 4 and 5 on page 55 of the text, completed two Duolingo assignments, and played a dice game to reinforce vocabulary. Next week we will learn about Definite and Indefinite Articles.

SPA 2: This week in Spanish 2 we studied our Quizlets, completed a short Duolingo assignment, did two periods worth of whiteboard practice sentences and played a dice game to reinforce phrases that we learned. Next week students will learn how to extend invitations in Spanish and say where they are coming from.
