Week 34: April 24-28

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Families.

Spanish 1 & 2: This week in class students began to construct their piñatas for the piñata contest. This is a group project that we do each year to promote collaboration among students. Many groups have gotten off to a strong start and have already completed much of their work. At the conclusion of our piñata construction time students will self evaluate and will also evaluate their group members. In addition, I am monitoring their work on a daily basis. This ensures that each group member does his or her fair share of the work. The categories for this year´s contest are: Sports, Videogames, Cartoons/Movies, and Other (which can include food or any other item that does not fit into another category. We will be asking other classes to come in and vote for the best piñata in each category. Each piñata will be assigned a number so that when they are judged, there is less bias. The other assignment that students will be responsible for will be 30 minutes of Duolingo.

ASL 1: This week in class students are reviewing Lessons 1-28 and completing Lesson 29. Next week students will review Lessons 1-29 and will complete Lesson 30.

ASL 2: This week in class students are completing country sentences, a review of Lessons 31-58 and will be signing Lesson 59. Next week students will complete more country sentences with points of interest and new words, review Lessons 31-59 and sign Lesson 60.

Hope you all have a great rest of the week!
