Week 26: February 13-17

In ASL I, ASL II, Spanish I, Spanish II

Hello Families. I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day and that you are all staying warm through this cold spell. Brrr… I’m going to move someplace warm like Arizona! LOL!

Spanish 2: This week in class students created a Quizlet for their new chapter and have been studying it each day for 15 minutes. Students also created a Word Wall this week for their new words and have completed a Quizlet Check Point to check their progress, as a class, on the new vocabulary. Students will also be reading with the vocabulary embedded in context and in a dialogue with roles this week. Next week students will work on some comprehension activities in the text and also learn to express position using demonstrative adjectives and pronouns.

Spanish 1: This week students have been concentrating their efforts on learning Interrogative words in Spanish and using them to form questions. They have taken notes on this and we have watched a couple of videos on this that have been posted to the Google classroom. We will be working on a short packet tomorrow and Friday that covers Interrogatives and how to use them in sentences and may also complete some whiteboard practice on the concept. Next week students will test over the chapter. I have encouraged them to review the textbook pages in the Google Classroom and also the videos that reinforce the grammar concepts.

ASL 1: This week in ASL 1 students have completed review of lessons 1-21 and have learned the vocabulary for Lesson 22. They should sign the practice sentences for the lesson by Friday. Next week we will work on Lesson 23, complete review for previous lessons and have a written assignment on Signing Exact English versus ASL.

ASL 2: This week in class students completed Country Sentences 96-100 which means that they have learned the signs for 100 countries! Wow! Great job students! They also worked on Lesson 52 which they should sign by Friday of this week. Next week students will have a written assignment on Signing Exact English versus ASL and will also work on Lesson 53.

Have a great rest of the week! We are halfway there!
