Happy Homecoming Week Parents and Students,

It’s been a fun week building up to Homecoming and dressing up and showing our spirit at a parade and assembly! I especially enjoyed Hippie day and listening to some sixties music in the classroom while students were working. Many of them were familiar with the songs which delighted me.

ASL 1: Students practiced receptive fingerspelling today on ASL University. They also practiced for signing lesson 8. Next week students will complete a fingerspelling activity based on a fall theme and they will complete lesson 9.

ASL 2: Students prepared and signed their next set of state sentences this week. They are also responsible for signing lesson 38 by tomorrow if possible, even though it is a short week. Many students have been working hard to meet the expectation. Next week students will complete state sentences 31-35 and complete lesson 39.

Spanish 1: This week students learned indirect object pronouns such as me, te, le, nos, os and les. We are beginning to use them with the gustar verb to talk about what we like and what we dislike or what is pleasing to us, or not pleasing to us. ie. Me gusta comer; I like to eat. Students will be working next week on a presentation where they will have to use the gustar verb to talk about their likes and dislikes. They will also be reviewing for a test over the current chapter.

Spanish 2: This week students have been learning about Go-Yo verbs which are regular verbs that have and irregular yo form. Examples of these verbs are digo, hago, tengo, me caigo, oigo, pongo, salgo, traigo and vengo. Today we worked on using them in sentences. Next week we will review and take a test over the current chapter.
