Hello Parents and Students,

Happy Friday! I hope all of you are enjoying the cooler weather we have had this week. Our Spring sports have started and it has been fun for me to check in on some of the games and practices. I popped in yesterday after school to the girl’s sand volleyball practice and they are working hard and having fun! They have an amazing coach! Of course this is no anomally. All of the coaches at San Tan are amazing! They are incredibly talented and deeply committed to the success of their students in the classroom and outside of the classroom in athletics. Thanks coaches!

ASL 1: This week students studied lesson 24 and should have signed the Practice Sheets and taken the vocabulary practice quiz for the lesson today as well. Here are some of the sentences students had to sign:

ASL 2: Students are working hard in class to sign their respective stories. Beginning next week, it will be a requirement for students in this class to sign two lessons per week. This will be reflected in the Google classroom as well.

Spanish 2: This week students learned how to say the nationalities of people from different countries. They had studied it a bit last week, but needed to review this, take notes on it and then take a Quizizz (yes, this is spelled correctly) on it to show their mastery. This week students also reviewed Saber vs. Conocer. Both verbs mean “to know.” Saber is to know information or facts or to know something by heart. Conocer is used with knowing or people or being acquainted with something. Both are irregular in the “I” form when we conjugate them.

Spanish 1: Students reviewed vocabulary this week using the Learn portion of Quizlet. Students should be studying the vocabulary for at least 20 mins. per day outside of class too. We will be having a quiz over the vocabulary next week. Students also learned words and phrases to show possession. Their is no apostrophe in Spanish to show possession, so instead of saying “Juan’s brother”, we say “El hermano de Juan” (the brother of Juan). Students took a Quizizz on this concept today. They also had an introduction to possessive adjectives this week.

German and Japanese: Students continue to put time into Rosetta Stone. This week they should have had a total of 150 mins.
